HikingHiking in this area of North Georgia is limitless. There are many trails within a short drive of Big Creek Base Camp. Just off of Aska Road, and ascending to 3,200 feet, are the Aska Area Trails which offer 17 miles of hiking on National Forest land. This trail system consist of the Flat Creek Loop 5.8 miles, the Stanley Gap Trail 5 mile, Green Mountain Trail 3 mile, and Long Branch 2 mile. All trails vary in difficulty and can be accessed off of Aska Road, 4.4 miles south of Blue Ridge at the Deep Gap parking area. The Benton Mckaye Trail, system meanders up and down the Mountains through the area as well, and can be accessed in many spots just a short drive from the cabin. The trail that is known throughout the world, the Appalachian Trail may be enjoyed too. One of our favorite hikes is to the picturesque Long Creek Falls, accessed at Three Forks, off of FS 58 along the Noontootla Creek.
