Blue Ridge Georgia, "Come Enjoy"
As a child, my parents would bring us to Lake Blue Ridge to enjoy my grandfather's lake home, and what a treat it was. We would would pile into the car and as excited as we were, we would think we would never get there. As we arrived at the Blue Ridge Dam, we would shout "I see the lake first", a ritual of exhilaration of finally arriving at the lake. We would have the best time enjoying the simple things that Blue Ridge provided; the organic smell of the mountain air, catching fireflies, toads, and butterflies, time with nature, hiking, biking, sailing, boating, and water skiing. When the all too short weekend came to end, and we had to head back to Atlanta, we would feel sad to leave. What I now call the "Post Blue Ridge Blues". The years went by, my parents inheritted the property, and sold it, as it wasn't being used. My brother and I were in college and the place had remained vacant most of the time.
Once we started a family of our own and had saved up enough money to buy a place, we did just that in winter of 2000. Now we were ready to make wonderful Blue Ridge memories of our own. And we hope you will too!
